Riverside - Bootle tenants get connected
Riverside is backing the government’s plans to enable parents to support their children's progress at school by promoting free laptops and internet access to families in Bootle.
Housing association Riverside teamed up with Everybody Online for an event at St Leonard’s Community Hall to raise awareness of Home Access, a government drive that helps families on low incomes to get online at home.
Riverside’s Regeneration Officer Stephen Chapman said: “Over 70% of our tenants don’t have access to the internet so it’s really important we make them aware of the help that’s available.
“In addition to bringing families together to learn, the internet holds a wealth of other benefits. People with access to the internet can take advantage of online discounts and savings via price comparison sites. They can also use social networking sites to keep in touch with friends and family at the click of a button.”
