Riverside - New wave of silver surfers
A new wave of silver surfers in Liverpool has joined the digital revolution.
In a bid to engage over 55s with new technology as part of its strategy to tackle digital exclusion, social landlord Riverside has funded a series of drop-in sessions by Dingle Opportunities at sheltered housing schemes in Anfield, Kirkdale and Walton.
Shirley Marshall, the Manager of Thirlmere Court in Anfield, said: “People with little or no experience of computers may think the internet isn’t for them, but once they learn the skills and develop their self-confidence, the majority of people get hooked.
“Whether they want to keep in touch with friends and family abroad at the click of a button, or simply find out a bit more about the latest technology their grandchildren use, our tenants are discovering that computers can really benefit their lives.”
