Riverside - Tenants take a look at adapting homes
Riverside tenants from the Merseyside area visited a special open day to see how their landlord can adapt their homes to suit people with specific disabilities.
Tenants took the chance to view special showers and bathroom fittings that can make life easier for disabled and infirm people.
John Morgan, Riverside’s regeneration project manager said: “We are committed to delivering a first class service for all our tenants. We are working with specialist service providers to install disabled adaptations in homes so that we can get it right for all our tenants. The open day was a great opportunity to hear directly from tenants about which adaptation services are right for them.”
Riverside has carried out adaptations for over 300 homes in the last 12 months following requests from tenants who have long term health or mobility problems. This equates to over £1.2 million spent on improving homes to suit individual needs.
John added: “We aim to complete adaptations in the home within six months of receiving a request from our tenants. Sometimes just a minor alteration can greatly improve people’s quality of life.”
